Shawnee Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during a domestic dispute Sunday evening.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 6300 block of Cottonwood Street in the Cottonwood Park Apartments at 8:26 p.m. following a neighbor's report of a disturbance. The neighbor reported hearing a man and woman arguing inside an upstairs apartment.

Major Dan Tennis says officers arrived and contacted two, 20-year-old, residents of the apartment who were boyfriend and girlfriend.

"They discovered the male victim had a laceration on his arm," according to Major Tennis.

The police department's press summaries website states, "subjects became involved in a physical disturbance resulting in the victim being stabbed."

Johnson County Med-Act transported the man to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
