Six vehicle accident forces closure of I-435 in JoCo

Overland Park Police and Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating after five passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer were involved in an accident early Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 435 east of Quivira Road around 12:30 p.m. Monday on a reported rollover injury accident.

Overland Park Fire spokesperson Jason Rhodes tells Operation 100 News that four people were injured.

All of the injured were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

Police closed all westbound lanes of I-435 and diverted traffic to US-69. All lanes reopened around 2:30 p.m..
