Hit-and-run leaves woman seriously injured

Lawrence Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a woman injured this morning.

The crash was reported around 3:50 a.m. in the 100 block of West 11th Street.

Police reported only one vehicle remained at the scene when they arrived at 11th and Vermont.

Medics arrived to report the vehicle was in the parking lot of the Lawrence Community Building at 115 West 11th Street.

The occupant of the vehicle, only identified as a 35-year-old woman, was reportedly sleeping in her vehicle when it was struck.

She was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

A description of the suspect vehicle has not been released.
